Its time for bed, but I thought I'd give an update. I've been moving the tupperware closer and further from the heat lamp based on the thermometer's reading. I've been able to get it and keep it at the temperature it needs to be. The first bird, now named Shelly, has made it and is under the mama, Lacey, who thankfully seems to have accepted the chick no problem. The second bird, who will be called Miracle should she survive, is still under the heat lamp, still alive, still breathing, and sometimes seems like its doing better an other times not. I feel like if she makes it through the night she's got a fighting chance...otherwise, I don't know... thoughts and prayers I guess.

She’s still alive and is squirming a lot more. I’m feeling cautiously optimistic. The umbilical thingy is still attached to her to the egg. Not sure what to do about that. Her eyes have not opened yet either. Is this the creeper gene? They are Japanese Bantams.

Update, I just heard from my wife, Miracle has improved even further. Her eyes are open and she’s moving under her power. Weak and wobbling still, but she is also now under mom.
