Help please, I moved my hen after I found her this was her first set and she wasnt eating or drinking very much. It also is very hot here and she wasnt in a very good spot. She was 6 days into her set and so early night before last I carefully moved her into a pen to herself and her eggs into a large box with shavings. Well she quit setting and now this morning she really looks bad not moving around and very watery stool I moved her back into the small pen as the rooster wont leave her alone any Ideas is she ok should I leave her in the pen to herself or let her out she seem ok yesterday was moving around not much but I feel like I just broke her heart thanks Karen

Okay, you moved the nest - typically they do not move around much when nesting - 2 times a day maybe....She's upset to say the least. Put her back in her original place with her eggs and LEAVE HER alone..

Make sure food and drink is within an easy walk.

Good luck!

Thank you I think its to late she is laying on her side very hot and weak I think I am loosing her her feet are curled up tight under her I gave her a small amount of electrolytes with a eye dropper she had a hard time swallowing it. Her breathing sounds labored she wont sit up on her legs she is on her side

Thank you again Karen

I pray she will recover...I'm sorry she's hurting. I know you must be too!

Let us know how she is and you as well.

Thank you for all of your help she didnt make it I did give her water and some watered down yogart. I thought she might make it but she just seemed to give up . Im new at this her sister is thinking of brooding now but she has chosen a much better spot I can put food & water out there and she wont have togo far. Both of these hens are young just over a year if that Im not to sure of their health when I got them but I have six pullets that I raised they are doing very well I will let you all know how Goldie comes out if she is broody or not has been 5 days she has layed in same spot out under the bushes not in her box. I guess the day she dissapears will let me know if she is broody Is it like 10 days to leave the eggs alone see if she will set? Thanks Again!
