My Orpington had these small finger nail size balls stuck to her back end. It's a very small round, almost like thick lint stuck to individual feathers on her back end. I have washed her twice, cut out as many feathers as possible and have dusted her in diatomaceous earth several times. I cut one of the " lint balls" and it was fairly hard. Took microscope to it. Didn't see any . I have no idea what this is and how to treat. A lot of feathers are missing. It's nasty

You've done a lot of trimming and washing, so it is hard to know what the original condition looked like, but I strongly suspicion it is vent gleet. The hard crust is probably fecal matter sticking to the feather quills.

I'll link an article about vent gleet below so you can assess if this is something your bird might have. It gives care treatment in the article too.

You said in your newest thread that you were having trouble with the health of your flock, so I decided to take look at all of your posts. Those clumps on her feathers look like lice eggs to me, so I strongly suggest that you get some permethrin spray or dust and treat your flock. DE does not treat lice or mites.
