Hello,
My favorite hen Ebony has not been herself lately. I started noticing two days ago that she was not herself, but today it has gotten a lot worse. She is usually a little ball of energy and follows me around everywhere, but today she it just staying in one spot and walking around occasionally. She is eating a little, but not nearly as much as usual and is not drinking much either. I felt her crop when she first woke up this morning and it had not emptied completely, but it was not like a squishy balloon the way it would be with sour crop or hard as a rock like it would be with an impacted crop. Her poops have been watery and mostly white with a little green in them. I will check her crop again in the morning to see if it has emptied. I got her to eat some scrambled eggs, moistened feed and bread soaked in water and apple cider vinegar but she didn't want to eat very much of it. She also drank a little water mixed with olive oil. I have been massaging her crop occasionally.
She has straw in her nesting box but other than that I have no idea what could be causing this. To my knowledge she has not laid an egg in a few days but that would most likely be because she's not feeling well. My other hens are spunky and energetic.
Is there anything in specific that I should be feeding her? Dou you know what's wrong with her?
Please help, thank you!

my hen is doing the same.. kind of. i posted a few minutes ago about it myabe its the heat and dehydration. because hte day before another chicken of mine had a very minor heat stroke i mean very minor but still. i feel dehydration might be the cause with this heat. i gave yoghurt and powdery easy to eat food

oh and by the way. another one of my chickens had watery poop today. i read it can come from the heat because they drink alot more :)

I don't think the heat would be the problem for my girl because we have been having a major cold front the past week and the temperatures haven't gotten above 80.
I really help your hen gets better as well!

I would start by checking the inside of her vent for an egg. Glove, lube, gently insert finger no more that an inch. If it's there, it'll be just below her spine.

I did the internal exam and didn't find anything. This morning her crop had not emptied but it was smaller and more emptied than it was when I checked it last night before she went to bed. She is not pooping much and when she does it is watery and mostly white. She has been drinking this morning and she ate a few bites of eggs. She is still lethargic and not moving much and she is definitely not herself. :(

Where can I get a tube to do that?
A vet should sell you a tube and syringe, but if you can't find a vet open now, you could use aquarium air line, but you would have to melt the end to make it smooth. Make sense? You will need Kaytee Baby Bird Food, and that you can get a Petsmart or Petco. TSC should have the syringes.

I can't get a tube today but I probably can tomorrow or later. Since I don't have a tube I tried feeding her with a syringe but she fought me and I didn't get a drop into her.

I think it would be the same thing with tube feeding.
Do you have any idea what's wrong with her? I was thinking maybe she has a crop or intestine impaction. I bought some Epsom salt because it can act as a laxative but I haven't given her any yet.
