Help..hen just went broody and we have eggs in the incubator....

Question....we have a RIR that just went broody for the first time. We don't have a rooster but I bought some hatching eggs that are currently in the incubator on day 15. Could I move them under her and let her hatch them?

Yes, I have moved incubator eggs under a broody hen before. If she acts distressed with them hatching so early, just take them back to the incubator.

Thanks! I will move them tomorrow. I would much rather her raise them than me.

I have hens adopt chicks and partial-cooked eggs for me alot. I love to see chicks with a mother. I can not be even a quarter as good of a mother as a hen. They act more like "real" chickens when they have had a mother; more street smart and act more on their instincts.
