I have a hen who has laid eggs without shells for the past 4-5 days. Is there any approachable solutions to this? And what causes this??

Grit is meant to help in the grinding and digestion of their food but does nothing for the calcium need. Oyster shells provide extra calcium to the hens. It is a good idea to offer it in a space different than their regular food and have it always available. Mine do not care for Oyster shells but LOVE their own shells washed, left to dried and broke up in somewhat large pieces. I do leave a small amount of oyster shells in the run for them in case someone gets desperate for some calcium now that I have 6 hens and a pullet and can't keep up with enough egg shells to have some available the majority of the time anymore. They will just take the calcium as their body tells them they need it. I do get some of those soft or no shelled eggs when my birds are done molting and making a large amount of new feathers no matter how much calcium I have provided.
