Help....Hen making crying noise when breathing!!

My 4 year old Buff Orpington is making a crying noise when she breaths in and out. When I tried to listen to her chest,I didn't hear any rattling. She's eating and pooping. Her eyes look ok, her comb looks good. Not sure if she's struggling to breath or not.

How long has this been going on? It could be something minor like she has something stuck in her throat or nostrils. Any gaping, sneezing, or discharge from the nostrils?

She just started about and hour ago. She was gaping, but stopped. She is eating ok. She's sneezing, but everything else looks good. She is acting totally fine.

Just a quick update....the next day the hen was perfectly fine. I looked up other ppl who had the same issue, and they said it cleared up within 24 hours. Thank you for your help!

That is good news! Yes, usually it is nothing to worry about. But it is good you were keeping a close eye on her. Better safe than sorry!

My hen is having the same symptoms right now. Hopefully it will clear up soon…. I’m glad your hen was ok!!

I'm sure she will be. Its scary when they are like that though.
