I have a hen I hatched last spring, and she has not been able to poop on her own for several days. I thought at first she may have been egg bound, so I put on a glove and checked her cloaca, feeling nothing- when I pulled out my finger (a short 2”) a load of stinky (not broody, though) poop rushed out. I inspected the poop and it was kind of grainy and had a *lot* of the urate (?) white thick stuff. She huddles, she’s can’t walk at all- she has no balance, she’s not eating or drinking ☹️. In case of cocci I’m treating her with corid, and tube feeding for water with nutridrench the last few days. I’ve ‘helped’ get poop once or twice a day before and after I go to work, I’ve given her two long epsom salts baths…she’ll eat a bit after her pooping, but not much… her abdomen isn’t particularly warm…help! I’ve had chickens for about six years and never had this issue, had anyone else experienced this? Her bottom is clean as a whistle, too, has been from the start, she just can’t seem to open up 🥺

Welcome To BYC

I'm sorry about your hen.

Hard to tell what's going on with her, but my thoughts would be to try a flush to see if you can get things moving.
I'm going to tag in @azygous to see if she thinks this would be the next step.

What does her abdomen feel like?

I wouldnt give Nutri-Drench with corid. Check to make sure but you dont want to give anything with b vitamins or thiamine while you're treating with corid.

I “expressed” her cloaca, and this is the poop that came out- typical of these last few days, only if I “help” very gently, and absolutely no poop otherwise. it doesn’t look entirely digested, and the white part is very thick.
I’ve got molasses, saline solution enema, and more Epsom salt, so I’m ready to help her poop via a laxative if that’s better, too…she’s been super tolerant, but I know it must be stressful every night for me to clear her out and give her a warm bath and blow dry, but I know if she doesn’t get that poop out it’s death for sure. We’re on Night three of bath time…

What are you feeding her? Layer crumbles or pellets should be her diet.
Here's a link for you regarding liquid solutions for poultry. Scroll down to LAXATIVE SOLUTIONS in this link. Hopefully it will help your hen in recovery.
https://extension.msstate.edu/conte...re,to the affected birds for about four hours.
Thank you for the laxative list!
My chickens are all on layer crumble from a local feed store, with a (2cup) scoop of 6 grain scratch tossed in the outdoor pen each morning. They all occasionally get our table scraps, but only the veggies and fruits types.
She had a wonderful appetite last night after her bath, but not yet this morning.
