Help hen with pale comb

I just went out to the coop, and I noticed that the hen inside of the nesting box has a pale comb! She seems to be panting through her beak. This one was waiting to lay because I shut it out of the coop area, but if it really needed to lay an egg it would have just layed it right?

Also, it ate some paint about 2-3 days ago. The door is from the 70s and it was sitting in the yard after we cleaned out the garage. I doubt it ate enough to cause harm, but I am nervous if it was caused from that.

The hen is 1 year 2 months old. Is this when they molt?

What should I do?

How's your hen today? Was she able to pass an egg? And if so, was it a normal egg?

My chickens will pant if it's warm in the coop - that would be normal. But if it's not warm, and she's panting - then it wouldn't be normal. I doubt the paint she ate is the culprit if she actually is sick. Our chickens have pecked just about all the flaking paint off of our shop door frame...

Sometimes, when trying to pass a soft shelled egg or a jello egg, hens will look quite sickly. I think it must be very difficult and take a lot longer to pass an egg like that. And some hens can have trouble pass a regular egg (egg bound) - in which case a warm soak in a sink, followed by being placed in a dim, warm area (after being dried of course - I've even used a blow dryer aimed mostly around the abdomen and vent area - but watch the heat) will help an egg bound hen pass her egg. A little lube around the vent can help too...

Thank you, the hen was fine! She was white and pale in the nest box, but 10 seconds later when she jumped out (I was making sure she did not have pasty butt or any type of blockage) and when I looked at her again she was red again. Funny, but I'm so glad she is all right.
