What’s going on with this hen?

I just picked up this hen (along with 5 others) from someone for free. The lady claims she is 2 years old. She has insanely scaly legs. 2 of the other hens also have scaly legs but nothing compared to this girl. She also has a pale comb, puffy eyelids, and her pupils are not black like all of my other hens. Is she sick or possibly older than 2?

I didn’t get to see the birds before she put them in the box or I wouldn’t have taken them!

I don't have any experience of Marek's Disease so I'm NOT saying that's what it is, but there is a form that affects the eyes and I think can look something like that. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will be along soon but in the meantime, are you able to keep her and the others you got with her completely separate from any other birds you had already?

Ugh I hope not. She was giving away birds to several people! I have them in a separate coop thankfully.

Ocular marek's tends to show in the iris when it is gray or as a blown/misshapen pupil. I'll link an article about the types of it below. There is always a chance that it is a vision issue. Is she light sensitive at all? She isn't feeling well that's for sure. Have you checked for mites or lice? She also needs a good nail trim.

Iris color seems normal. I cannot tell if her pupil is misshaped but it does appear cloudy.

I haven’t had a chance to get my hands on her. They were all pretty hungry when we got them home so I’m letting them relax for a minute and then I’ll check them over.
