Help! Hens attacking eachother

I don't understand why they wouldn't just tell me it was a rooster!!! I will be bringing him back and asking for a refund... I'm sure they will be so happy about that.

They might just want to get rid of males by telling inexperienced people that they are pullets. And of course they would rather keep the money than having to refund it.
