My eggs are due to hatch June 10th. I was just candling them and one of them has a hole in it on the side. The baby is developing, what do I do? Should I discard the egg now or let it and see what happens? Is there a way to close the hole?

how big is the hole and how did it get there? its not pipping is it? i have used the very smallest piece of scotch tape on a hole once and removed it at lock down.

I candled them at 4 days and there was no hole. It must have happened at that point because that's the only time the eggs have been handled.

Kind of hard to see but I can see the veins and the chick growing.

that dont look bad. i would use the tape. you want the smallest piece that will stick so the egg can still get oxygen. and take it off at lock down because its in a spot where it may pip.

good luck on your hatch.
