Help - Homemade Incubator - Temps too low??? (UPDATE - READY TO GO??)

99-101
seems good to me and the humidity seems fine as well. I would say go ahead and set them when you want.

Just a note remmber the temps may drop and the humidity go up slightly when you put the eggs in , Dont touch anything just let them sit in there and get up to snuff with the bator and then after 12-24 hours if the temp is still to low fix it.. did the make sense?

I made a Miss Prissy bator too and my temps were good until I added eggs. Now I can't get them to stay where I want them. It has been 24 hours and 1 thermometer is reading 99-101, the other is hanging down at 94-96!

I am open to suggestions... my bator is listed on my page with lots of pictures. I didn't make wine cork sized vent holes. Maybe I should have

I have 2 holes on either side of the light bulb, 2-3 inches from where the base goes through the wall of the cooler, for cool air intake. There are also 4 small holes on each corner of the front and the back of the cooler and 1 hole on the opposite end from the light. Each of these holes is roughly the size of a drinking straw.

Before I put the eggs in the temp and humidity did NOT waiver. Now It is warmer on one end of the cooler but the humidity is good, holding at 48% (I think that's ok...)

I had a fan on the opposite end from the bulb, thought that was causing the cooler area so I unplugged it. No change, I moved it down by the bulb thinking it might move more hot air to the other end, no change. It is currently unplugged again and the far end is heating up just a little.

I had the opposite problem... temps spiked to 106 and wouldn't drop. I figured I wrecked the batch anyhow, so I'm leaving them in there for now until I can get the temps to stabalize again then I'll try with a new batch of eggs.

I've since moved the thermostat a little closer to the light and changed how I had it rigged up in there and insulated behind it a bit more (on the outside of the box) to prevent any heat loss or a "radiator effect" through the supporting wire. I'll see if it works or not when I get home this afternoon....
