Help! House Was Sold Underneath Us

Well since no notice was given to you. You have the right to stay and make arrangements to gather your things and find a new place. Even though they sold the house without your knowledge, there is a thing called renters rights.
There is also a thing called legal eviction. Your eviction is not legal. Find an attorney and stay put. They cannot throw you out without giving you notice. I once bought a house where the renters refused to move. It was weeks before I got them out.

Wow that sucks so much. Sound like you are dealing with a tax lien sale on a house that you live in with family. It sounds like you have probably been getting notices about this for months or possibly years. There is no other option. The house has been sold. Take your legal amount of time to get out after you find out how much that is and find a new place quick. Hopefully not with MIL. Sorry.

This is exactly the situation. I have figured out my deal for now although I am still needing to get rid of my flock which I will post today. Thank you everyone for your replies.

I've just learned our house was sold in February and we have til 10am tomorrow morning before people show up. Whatever papers or complaint that was supposed to be given we never ever got! They gave it to our neighbors every time! An In Rem Judgement happened on the house without our knowledge and they sold it with out us knowing.
Please help me I don't know what to do and I only have a small car that won't move everything, and I have no where to go anyway. I'm terrified and I don't know what to do. Any advice or just nice words are appreciated.
Depending on your state you may have options I would definitely check in NC they have to allow at least 14 days and you can request more time through court, those are crappy neighbors to not give you your notices (js) is your mil still living there? Definitely consult a lawyer other option is squatting until you find a place that’s the last thing I would do unless it’s you absolutely last resort. This happened to me a few years ago by my previous landlord never had complaints always paid my rent he showed up said he sold it I had 30 days, I had chickens, dogs, and horses! Had to get rid of everything (gave) and me and my dogs lived in my vehicle from November through March it was awful then I found out he actually never sold it rerented it for more money! I would have gladly paid more had he asked 🤬😡 I prefer animals over humans most days if possible! Keeping you in my prayers good luck! 🍀
