Help! How do I protect my flock against a weasel?!

Hey everyone! I have never had this problem before but we have a weasel running loose in our block! One of my neighbors got two chickens taken out by this weasel and I was wondering if anyone has any tips for dealing with this! Should I still let my chickens free-range or should I keep them in and set up a trap? I'm really hoping for some advice!

First, make sure your coop is secure, any hole or crack the size of a quarter or larger, must be secured, if you have Chicken wire, add a layer of hardware cloth, make sure it's secure to the coop frame. Weasels are mostly nocturnal but they can come out during the day. I know a lot of people use rat traps for weasels.

Secure the coop, and set some traps around. Maybe get some electric fencing that’s lower to the ground and give him a good shock when he tries squeezing through the fence

Thank you so much! we have done all the necessary precautions and are making sure to lock all doors tightly! Would it possibly work to use a cat trap?

Maybe a gopher trap, I don't think weasel weigh enough to trigger a cat trap.

I used a cat trap...... it will have to have small wire mesh otherwise a weasel will get out again

I haven't had any weasel issues here but did go on YouTube and there are plenty of videos on catching weasels.
