Help! How do I sex six-week-old birds ?

I am giving away some birds to get my flock down from the minimum order level to the comfy population in my coop level, and the woman to whom I'm giving the birds can't take any cockerels.

Any advice on what to look for at this age to sex the birds?

It might depend on what breed of chicken. Some are easier to sex than others.

Red combs and waddles coming in is usually a dead give away at this age for a rooster. Also, saddle feathers may be coming in on the roosters.

And larger legs into that mix... most likely rool. My RIR was crowing at 7 weeks. My leghorns were crowing even sooner I think.
