I have a small chicken coop.. I've been battling red mites for quite some time. Starting to get a handle of them on my birds but they are hiding in my coop. I have a ceder shake roof on my hen house.. If I tap a piece I see some scatter about. I've been rubbing DE on the outside and inside of the coop. Doesn't seem to be working so well?

How can I get rid of these pests. I only have 3 birds but 1 is setting on eggs. I want to try to get this under control before the babies hatch!

HELP!!!!

7 Dust. I use it every time I clean my pens. It kills any mites on the floor and the birds dust bath in the new bedding and they get dusted too.

I use 7 dust to dust my Birds every 7 days but I heard it's not safe for them to inhale or to ingest so I haven't ever used it in the coop?

Permethrin dust or spray is approved for use on chickens and in the coop, and works fine. Carbaryl and most other insecticides aren't approved, so it's better to not use them. Mary
