We had 4 of our 9 week old chicks go missing while we were out of town. Our chick-sitters could not find them. When my husband got home… He found them wedged between our shed and the wall. Two are dead and two are alive. So sad!!!! What is the best way to nurse them back to health? We have 3 other pullets from that new flock and 8, 4 year old hens.

Fish and other meat would also help with weight gain, but since they are still growing, I would make a wet mash of their chick feed, and mix the fish, egg; etc. into the chick feed mash so they get other nutrients they need too. How long were they missing, and how hot is your current temperature?

How are the 2 doing?
Are they active, eating/drinking?
Hydration is important. Adding nutri-drench to their water or sav-a-chick can help rebalance the electrolytes.

Wet chick feed will also help with hydration. It's literally chick feed mixed with water to make a cooked oatmeal consistency mash.

We lost one of them 😢 the one left is active, eating and drinking… so holding out hope! Giving her electrolyte water and will try the wet chick feed. Do you think she is ok alone? We have her separated in a pet pen and dog igloo. Temps are around 90. The other pulleys and hens can see her but not get to her. She has been out in the run with them for short, supervised periods of time.
@Allsfairinloveandbugs they were missing for about 5 days
