Help Hubby bought wrong feed what should I do with it?

Ok so I sent my hubby to get feed and he comes home with layer feed, my babies are 13 weeks.......... can I mix it a bit at a time with there starter grower???? and meaty feed???? I already had the bag open before I noticed it was the wrong feed, or I would just return it. My babies won't start laying for at least 2 1/2 to 3 months I doubt it will keep that long.
I know layer has extra calcium, but will a little hurt them? if I mix it say 1/4 to 3/4 of their regular rations?..........also I have a mix of roo's and hens ordered straight run, so it's like 12 roo's to 10 hens.

my mom did the same thing mine are only 10 weeks im going to start mixing it when they are 15 or 16 weeks old just put a blanket over it or if you have mice in a metal garbage can

The label should say when it is safe to feed, I wouldn't feed any earlier than that, just in case, but I really think you should be able to use it within a month or so.

Mixing is fine, I do it all the time. Just add a little to their normal chick feed. If you had a big fridge, freezer or cellar, you could put the bag in there.

Get a bag of starter and mix it half and half. They will be fine.

Is it ok to feed it to roosters as well, I have been wondering that for awhile.....thinking I would have to buy 2 different feeds until butchering age............ meaty grower for the boys and layer for my girls. is that what everyone else does with there spare roo's ? or do they just get the same feed as the gals? I was thinking I would have to seperate the boys.?? Also whats flock raiser I read somewhere here that it's good for every chicken? except maybe babies under 16 weeks.
LOL another question??????? how about organic corn, when can they have some of that mixed with their feed?

I'm growing colored inca corn and Stocklies evergreen this year from Baker Creek, but will have to buy natures own organic until mine is ready. It's expensive........arg grumble grumble, but mine won't be ready to grind until November at least, late start this year awful weather this spring, didn't plant till may 31st. usually It's a foot high or better by now but it's just barely 4 inches.
How does everyone feed there corn, ground, cracked, or whole?

once theyre past starter, throw it out there and theyll eat it...not rocket science so dont over-think it, theyre just chickens
