Hi guys first off sorry for the long post but I recently haven’t been home for a few weeks and my father has been talking care of my chickens now I’m home and 1-2 days ago I went out to collect my eggs like normal and thought one of my hens was acting like she might be a little broody but I wasn’t to worried about it I went about gathering eggs and left them on my counter at room temp. Today went I went out I realized my hen was definitely very broody and I figured I should check the eggs from the days before and make sure they weren’t slightly developed and to my surprise they were all super developed I would say about half way if not more and I feel horrible I took her eggs from her I’ve candled eggs many times and these didn’t seem dead but they have to be right?? They’ve not been warm for at least 24hrs and I can’t find my incubator anywhere so I decided to put them back in her nest to see what happens along with some other eggs that were fresh and fertilized. Later when I checked on her she was setting on a totally different nest with no eggs in it! Im afraid I have confused her and she isn’t gonna sit like she needs to this is her first brood and I’m not sure what to do or even if the eggs will hatch any advice or thoughts on the situation??

Was she sitting on them when you took them?I’d say they’re goners.I’m so sorry.Maybe she’ll try to hatch another clutch.
Yes she was sitting but she got up quickly I didn’t have to push my way in there is why I was so nonchalant about it normally with my brood hens they don’t wanna move and try to peck me but she got up fast so I figured she might have just been laying not actually broody but I was definitely wrong and she’s not as aggressive as my other mommas is why I think she moved so quickly. Also Thank you for replying!! But I think they are gone too hopefully she will try another clutch like you said :(
