HELP! I AM NOT SURE WHAT TO!!!!

Has she been wormed lately and are you offering grits? Sounds like she's feeling better though But I wouldn't stop closely monitoring her. You never know what's going on inside their bodies. Did you also feel her front even though you think that's not the issue? it may not be but I have seen the same thing happen with my aunt's hen and it was just that her crop had slowed down and it caused her to not eat much one day then eat good the next. I just say check the crop because I just lost my hen myself due to the same thing and because I thought she was better and she wasn't. I hope that she's better and it wasn't anything serious.

And I would also give her bottom a cleansing too and see if it reoccours again and Check to make sure her vent isn't red and irritated.

No she hasn't been wormed lately..... if she doesn't get better in the next few days I will go to my feed store and get some. But I just gave her some egg shells. Does that work the same as grit?

The shells give calcium so it will work. Breaking the shells up and mixing them with other food is a good idea. Oyster shells are good too but more expensive. I recently started offering grits to mine and I think it's a good idea to keep them digesting food better. I learn little things along the way that help.

I dont know how to check to see if there is a clogged up vent so should a take her to a vet? And to be quite honest, I dont really want to, but if I must for my little chickie then I will.

Is there anything else it might be? Her beak seemed a little more yellow than normal. Maybe that might help?

How long can they go without pooping? She might have not pooped for at least three days. That is probably serious. If she is not better tommorrow webare going to take her to the vet. Hang in there Rosie! I LOVE YOU!

Can you take a rubber glove, and insert a finger into her vent1-2 inches to check for an egg stuck which could be blocking her vent. Use some lubricant or oil. Also look at her vent to see if it looks normal.

If you think she hasn't pooped in days then yes, there is probably a need for you to do something right away. If she's not pooping there is a serious problem. A stuck egg would be a cause for not pooping. Checking for an egg is simple but if she was indeed egg bound she would probably be hunched down with her bottom close to the ground. If you do go that route and decide to check you will feel the egg within 2 inches of the vent if there is one in there. What your describing sounds different that what I've seen egg bound hens do but it can't hurt to check things out. Do you know when she last laid an egg? If you want to take her to the vet you would probably get a much quicker answer as to what's going on, it sounds like she probably has something going on internally.
