HELP I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DOO

I would've gave her fresh eggs since I think she'll be surprised that her egg hatched the next day after sitting. I think hormonal changes happen as time passes brooding but I could be wrong.
I don't really know, I was just guessing if she accepts it it'll all be good.

You know technically you could give one fake eggs to keep her from going after the others eggs.

So you could judge it on will the one being given stolen eggs to really be a good mother? Some would say committing felonies means she's probably not going to be mother of the year, but if you want to aid and abed criminals and kidnappers good for you. :p

I have heard of some people doing plastic easter eggs to keep stuff from happening like this.
that’s the thing I tried to give her a ceramic egg but each time she would get off the nest and then and just go back to stealing the eggs from my other hen, or a few times I would even find her sitting in the same nest as her or trying to push her out! haha I like the felony thing that was funny

I felt like I should give her a fresh egg too but I just hatched eggs and I really wasn’t looking to hatch more eggs after this clutch because I have too many chickens haha, And but I felt bad because she’s so tiny and poor

You know... you guys that feel you have too many and are holding back because of it...

I would reccomend you change that mentality.

There's going to be a huge food supply disruption this whole summer and fall. I really think a lot of people are going to need chicks and chickens, but they don't have your expertise to start on their own.

You guys could enjoy the benefit of playing with cheeps,... oops I mean chicks, all summer by hatching them for people and giving them to people who are worried about grocery store shortages who have backyards. Just have them get their own feed of course.

But this way you could help out a lot of the economic damage going around, and still get to play with cheeeps! Wow. It sounds so fun!

so I think you were right about the her hormonal changes because when the chick hatched it started walking around and she was calling for it but not really interested in it she really just sat there and I ended up giving the chick back to the other silkie because the check was running around and screaming for his mom but she took it and she was very happy with it and I ended up giving that other Silkie a fresh egg
