HELP! i dont know whats wrong with my chicken

Hey, so my hen (fluffy, age 2, buff Orpington) has been in the nest box for 2 days straight. she is not sitting on eggs, and i do not think she has even layed an egg. She has a missing patch of feathers on her neck too. any ideas on what's wrong with her??? also when i take her out of the nest box, she takes wood chips and throws them on herself.... what does this mean???

Here's my BO. She's broody. No eggs here, either, and she's been in the nest for going on 5 days. This anything like yours? If I take her out, she just lays there like an angry pancake.

Hens can go broody without eggs. The wood chip throwing is a nesting thing. The bald spot, I'd guess that's from a rooster over-mating her.
What do you feed? What other birds do you have, and what sexes?

i dont have a rooster, only 8 girls. where i live roos are illegal...

I don't have a roo, either. Maybe take her out and see what she does?

You can buy some already hatched baby chicks and place them under her during the night, or you can order some eggs of your liking, or you can break her.

I'm going to try to get mine to adopt. I'm going to wait a while more (21 days is normal egg development, I believe) and put day old chicks under her at night. I'm so excited! And nervous. Not all broodies accept chicks.
