HELP! I dropped my pipping egg its bleeding I hear the chick chirping

I have hatched out lots of chicks with broody mamas. I go out and my 8 eggs are pipping. I dropped one on the ground and it cracked and started bleeding.

I hear the baby inside. WHAT DO I DO? Im know this happens but I feel like a piece of !@#!. Im always so careful. I cleaned up the blood and put it back under mama OH i feel so terrible Do I just leave it be I can see it wiggling its way out it wasnt ready yet just started to pip

can you seal the crack with candle wax?

Its cracked soooooooo bad like when you crack one when your peeling hard boiled eggs. Oh im just sick

I don't have an answer, but my eyes teared up for you and I thought you could use a hug. I hope everything turns out ok.

can you wrap it in a moist paper towel? do you have a bator you can pop it into? I would think even a makeshift bator at this point.. like a hot water bottle or a heating pad covered with a towel and kept kozy... I would hate to think that the mom may start pecking at it now if its bleeding....

how far along is this lil guy? like 18 -21 days?

poor little baby. You know when something bad happens and it goes in slow motion. I had the egg it dropped out of my hands and uggh right on the ground I turned my head and didnt want to look they I hear chirp chirp I hope it will be ok

Try to run a little warm water over it to stop the bleeding do not get it in the pipped hole and then put it back in the bator and leave it alone..I did this same thing on my silkies hatch thought for sure I killed it and it hatched and is still alive and healthy..Good luck hope your lil baby makes it..
