duck egg.. accident :(

Okay, so I've never been unsuccessful at an assisted hatch, but I made a mistake. I got the time of this duck egg's internal pip wrong, I thought it was the AM of 9/28 (it is now the PM of 9/29), when it was the PM of 9/28.. I went to make a safety hole (which I've done many times before, and when I made the tiny puncture it started bleeding, I felt my heart drop. I dabbed the blood off, and raised the humidity in the bator.. anything else I can do to help this little guy.. I feel so bad!

It was probably minimal especially since it was so close to hatch time for it. Did you candle it after that? Just curious if you had and you'd have seen if blood was filling the air sack up. I doubt that though. Hopefully, it will still be okay.

so... the duck ended up having a malformed beak anyways . poor guy, he passed.
