I have a problem, I have 2 roosters, my original and one I can't get rid of. Before when I would have a rooster that we didn't want I had some kids come get them. My girls are free range (sleep in the trees) so I felt I needed a rooster. I had actually killed one, it was one of the most horrible thing I have done. So we haven't found anyone to take him and unfortunately I or husband can't shoot him. My big problem right now is my favorite girl who is a leghorn, very petite. Everything was okay until the younger rooster became adult and started going for the girls. One of them hurt my little girl, I don't know which one, but I had to take her to the vet. She has been sleeping in the house and during the morning I had her in the fenced strawberry patch. Both roosters would stand next to the fence wanting to get in. We haven't let her into the flock, her leg still hasn't healed. I don't if I can even let her go back. Problem, today she needed to lay a egg and jumped the fence, I was in the house, and she was attacked again, I found her in the barn in one of the nests. I saw the damage when she came out. I'm so mad! We are back to day one. My original rooster was good with the girls but now he has become more aggressive to the girls and I know it's because of the other rooster. I want to get rid of both of them. Any idea's?

Unfortunately you can't control what happens to them after that. Most people don't have time to constantly make sure their rooster isn't injuring their hens and causing all kinds of extra problems and work, so the aggressive ones usually get culled. It's just the way it is.

First thing, confine them to crates or a covered run until they go. Know any hunters who would be willing to take them? If not put them on craigslist.

They are free range and i wish I could catch them. In fact we bought a huge net with 5 foot handle, but roosters see everything and always on alert. I have a few people if they could shoot them, they say yes, but when it comes down to it they back out of it.
