my pekin duck hatched 3 healthy ducklings . For now I have momma duck and babies separated in inside pen and outside pen while all ducks have visibility with each other still. I noticed my drake was basically pecking the ducklings whenever he got the chance! He hurt one of them the other day since the little guy got out of his pen and my drake found him and pecked a lot of feather out BUT HE IS OK NOW! MY question is will my drake always be like this to these new ducks? He is always been soooo sweet to everyone and still is just not the new ducklings

Once they get bigger he will likely be ok with them, right now he sees them as a barrier to him breeding with the female
Ok that's great news....is it normal for him to breed with his kids or should I stop that from happening? Not that he has done it but I'd like to make sure thank you either way

Keep them separate till the Ducklings are fully feathered...Even then he might try breeding them so a longer separation might be needed?.....
Oh I see I just asked that! So it's def not ok for them to breed with their own kids? Thank you
