@Nurfsmom Your bird looks EXACTLY like a "Smokey Pearl" chicken my mom got from TSC this spring. She is a pullet, and yours definitely is as well. She only got 1 (out of 3) that got the dark face like this, though. The others have the more usual pink combs and faces. If you did get your bird from a feed store or from Hoover Hatchery (which is where our TSC gets their chicks) then I would assume that's what you have here. She's lovely!
Tookie, pipdzipdnreadytogo, NatJ and Mysterychicken.......Thank you so much for your input. Very interesting. I will try to get a better picture for you.
3KillerBs: I purchased her from TSC as a California Tan.
Lindsey: I did indeed get Graycie from TSC. I had questioned her being a Smokey Pearl, but the gray beak, comb, etc,, threw me off. Thanks for your reply. Janet aka/Nurfsmom
If indeed a Smokey Pearl, she'd have ghost barring. A good look at her plumage pattern will determine if she in fact a smokey pearl.
They're not fibro though. This bird is Fibromelanistic. (Excuse my spelling)Well, that explains why I didn't recognize what kind of hybrid she is. Seems like there's hardly anything out there about Smokey Pearls! Sounds like that's what she is, though.
According to TSC's description of them, only some of them have ghost barring. None of the review images seem to show birds with ghost barring, but a lot of those birds strongly resemble OP's bird, so I think we've got a match here. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/hoovers-hatchery-smokey-pearl
As a side note, the description isn't showing up on the page, itself, for me... But can be seen on the google search before clicking into that page.

Must've missed that, though I've looked into them before. No biggie. We all look over stuff from time to time.Did you look at the review pictures in that link? Many of them are fibromelanistic like OP's bird.
Here are a couple of pictures I took of Graycie today. I took a bunch, so if these don't help, maybe another one will.Looks like maybe a Fibro Easter Egger, or maybe a Mosaic. Possibly an Ayam Cemani mix.
These are only a few guesses.
For determining gender, can you get a good clear picture of the saddle area?
@Nurfsmom this is taken from a review from the link above the @pipdzipdnreadytogo posted. I do believe you have a smokey pearl pullet (she's beautiful) and as you can see 2 of hers have the dark skin trait. Super pretty bird. Here are a couple of pictures I took of Graycie today. I took a bunch, so if these don't help, maybe another one will.Oh, that roo is one of my favorites. Janet
