help...i just checked on my new chicks...

i just went to check my new(just got them tonight) ameracauna (3-4 week old chicks)...and one of there crops is REALLY distended..and hard...the other ones crop looks just like my other chicks and seems fine...is it impacted?...what can i do?.wendy

should i seperate her...to see if she is going to the bathroom?...or could she of just eaten alot?...

Well, my guess is that she ate alot..my chickens alwaysgo around with big crops..i dont think its something to worry about unless someone says so..im no expert...

Sounds like she was well fed today, It should go down overnight, may take a couple of days if she really overdid it.

I would certainly wait till morning, at least. If you think your chick would like it, you can always give her a little massage.

she may have pigged out more than the others...where i got her from..there were quite a few of them in a rubbermaid..maybe..she was just real hungry?...what should i watch for if it is inpacted?..thanks, wendy

I wouldn't worry unless it stays hard like that for several days. I bet she just really pigged out.
