Help- I knew they'd be messy but.....

When my ducklings were young in the brooder in my house the bedding needed to be changed daily. In the brooder I built a waterer like this, which helps with mess. I also do not provide swimming water in the brooder.

Once they move outdoors full time the water stays outside. I do not put water in the duck house. They splash it out and things get wet, and that's the way it goes, outside. The inside of the duck house stays dry. I turn the wet straw in the duck run with a tool called a cultivator, and it dries out in the sun within the day.

When they can move outdoors full time depends on where you live and the daytime and nighttime temps.
