My chicks are almost 3 weeks old and are currently living in a medium sized dog cage. They are starting to bump into each other and have standoffs, when they try to fly around they crash into things. I was trying to brain storm on new ways to make a brooder thats big enough for all 7 chicks does any one any ideas? if you have pictures please post them. Thanks

How about a large kiddie pool? You'd have to cover the top with netting or wire. Alot of times grocery stores will let you have their melon boxes when they are done with them. Refrigerator boxes make excellent brooder too. Just line them with plastic sheeting or trash bags and cover with bedding. Good luck!

Edited to add: there is a brooder thread floating around here somewhere, it has lots of great pictures of lots of different types of brooders. It should be easy to find if you use the search bar

I'm using a washer/dryer box that I cut down a little so it's about 2 1/2 feet tall. It seems like it will be big enough for them until I put them outside and it was free
