Help, I think I got a quail

This little guy has decided he’s joining my flock apparently. No idea where he’s from, he just turned up and is sticking around!

He’s a quail, right? He’s smaller than the hens and makes a soft uwhuh uwhuh sound.

What do I feed him?? Can he stay with the hens? They are ignoring his mostly. Idk what to do with him really 😅 he’s pretty cute and I guess he can stay if he wants…

That happened to me a couple weeks ago. There was a big windstorm overnight and the next morning there was a quail in the yard. Had a topnot feather. It found its way into the chicken run, so it must have been used to being around chickens. Didn't like me though. It ran off when it saw me.

In the afternoon it was back out in the yard and the neighbor's cat ran after it. I don't know if the cat was successful but I never saw the quail again.
