Sometimes you just ‘know’ if you’ve got a boy. I knew my Gerard (Buff Orpington) wasn’t a Gertrude at 3 weeks old simply by his aura and attitude. I remember picking him up and looking him in his wee, dinosaur eye and saying, “Oh yeah, you’re definitely a boy chicken.” Good luck with yours! :wee
That’s crazy because everything we read up on Faverolles said they tend to get picked on and bullied due to being so Docile but This little one is no push over that’s for sure... if anything their the meanest lol (not actually mean but bossy) and he already acts like he owns the coop

He'll be a handsome little fellow once he's older. All of mine were very sweet. These are bantams but the color pattern will be the same. That's actually what I wanted to breed again before I stumbled onto the Silver-laced Orpingtons I'm working with now.

So I got a really good photo of him/her when we let them play outside a little yesterday!! My son is super excited to have a boy so he’s really hoping we have a rooster!!!

Any suggestions on how to prevent him from fertilizing the eggs? Or maybe discouraging it? I’ve heard it’s safe to eat fertilized eggs buttttttt.... let’s just say I can’t mentally get over eating a potential baby chick :hit
