I'm not sure when it happened, but I accidentally disconnected my incubator.

I decided to check my humidity and found the incubator off. The humidity was at 61% and the temp was at 81 F. The eggs weren't completely cold, but they were colder than warm. I believe I might have disconnected it around 8 or 8:30 pm when I got home from my daughter's dance class, but not completely sure when it was disconnected.

My eggs were on day 11 of the incubation and when we candled them last night they were dancing away inside. Do you think the eggs may still be viable? I connected my Genesis and the temp is on it's way up again (already at 96 F). Should I candle the eggs tonight or wait till tomorrow night to make sure they are still OK?

Oh my goodness, you are FINE!!!! Humidity is good and the temp wasn't THAT low, so it couldn;t have been like that for long. Try to get the humidity down a bit though. 50% or around there. Remember that hens get off their nests to eat a drink and dust bathe and such.

Don;t worry!

Thanks. Whew!!! I think I can stop holding my breathe then. That was really scary. Would I be OK to candle them tonight or should I wait till tomorrow so they don't go too much without their heat?

Do yourself a favor and go to the park, read a book, crochet, knit, bake, whatever, and leave them alone til lockdown. You will know for SURE at that point.

I would think it should not be too bad. I just hatched some today
and ended up with 100% of what made it to lockdown.
The other day I went to check temp and humidity and someone had brushed
up beside the incubator while trying to get to another incubator
and my temp had gotten down to 89 and humidity was around 40 and
I don't know how long it had been like that but at least for a few hours.
Good luck with your hatch.
