help i think my chicken is going to die

Slowww down and do not get too upset. Does she sound congested? Have you treated her for worms? My chickens make all kinds of noises, of night some pur like cats, others growl like a dog, even barking. I have even heard what sounds like Help! Help! when a over aggressive rooster is trying to get a hen.

Hold her, calm her down, and listen for raspy breathing if respiratory, Look for discharge in the nostrils. Treat for gape worm it can't hurt even if she does not have them.

Check the bedding too. Hay can mold pretty easily and often the top layer looks fine, but the underside is full of mold/mildew. That kind of thing is bad for people and birds and could be causing the problems. How old are they, how long have they been in their current housing, how many do you have, and how much coop/run space is there. Also what are you feeding them and has anything changed lately?

thanks for the help.the coop is the size of a small shed.i have 8 chickens.i am feeding them layer pellets.i just changed the bedding the bottem is plywood the old hay came out in sheets.im going to start changing the bedding very often i justen opened another vent so there is alot of fresh air coming.they arent bobing there heads nearly as much anymore.i went out there for ten minuted today and only one chicken did it once.i ordered tylan 50.
