In the Brooder
Got this baby pullet from the feed store today, she's a standard chick and my experience is mostly with bantams, so i'm not as good at identifying these guys.
She also has clean legs, not feathered, so my immediate bantam-brain guess being Cochin is clearly wrong. And although I trust the chicken geniuses who peruse these forums, I did do a quick googling first so I could kick off the guessing.
From looking at the most popular variants of clean-legged black and white chicks, my main guesses are Black Australorp or Black Orpington, mostly because of the splashiness in color that isn't present in a lot of other black and black/white chicks. I almost considered if this chick were a blue something because she looks just like our Blue Cochin did when he was a day-old, minus the feathered legs, but I don't know if many feed stores sell blue-variant chickens.
Anyhow, you all probably have better guesses than me, so let me know if it's neither of my guesses or if i'll just have to wait 'til she's older to tell for sure.
