Mottled. Should have said mottled Cochin.Yes. They are last years spring babies. The little more Cochin didn't make it. We have another right now that we are crossing our fingers about.

I had to come back to see the artwork. Very nice! And such a sweet thing to do for the chicks!I realize that this is a Hatchery bird, but I'm really enjoying this beauty, so I wanted to share a picture of my Pyncheon. I'm sure a lot of breeders can find many faults but all I see is love <3 So far this bird has been the sweetest and most gentle of any chick I've had. I really wish I had more, even if it's not a true pyncheon.

I had to come back to see the artwork. Very nice! And such a sweet thing to do for the chicks!i have a question about this (your) bird. Our TSC gets its chicks from Hoover and Townline. I have two that I had in the "what breed is this" and everyone kept saying polish. They really don't look at all like the gold lace polish I had last year and they are pretty small. Do they look like yours to you? Added pic work OE for size comparison.View attachment 2067559View attachment 2067561

So adorable! They do look like possible Pyncheon's. My Pyncheon is pet quality only. From what I've learned so far, they need to have a Mille Fleur pattern (they're also found in white, but extremely rare from what I'm reading) once they feather in. A vaulted skull is not SOP, but rather a "tassel" on the head. I can't really tell with yours. Is their skull vaulted or is that a tassel? Also, they're supposed to have willow colored legs. Pink is the least desired (which mine has) and yellow can be bred to eventually get willow. It's hard to tell, but that head doesn't look polish, so I'd be surprised if you don't have Hatchery Pyncheon, like my sweet chick. I have enjoyed this chick so much that I'm in search of more or possible hatching eggs. I won't be showing my birds, but I spend a lot of time with them and I absolutely adore this birds personality and overall everything. My chick is really petite and is the smallest/same size as my Self Blue OEGB. Have you noticed the same as far as personality with yours? I just can't get enough! Between OEGB and Pyncheon's, my heart is going to burst with love!
I thought thats what you meant. That was an adorable chick. I'm so sorry for your loss. I am always so stressed when I have chicks. I am a chronic worrier anyway, but stress definitely intensifies with chicks. I am rooting for your mottled cochins to grow into gorgeous healthy birdsMottled. Should have said mottled Cochin.
She has me stumped. It looks like she had a Halo thoughAny ideas on what breed this chick is? I don't think anyone ever commented on her in the beginning. We call this chick "Mavis". Legs/feet are clean. This chick is very light in color. Got Mavis out of the bantam bin at TSC. This chick was older than the other chicks (going by feather growth), so I'm not sure about the hatchery she came from.

The feathers are white with a very light gray/silver. There is a little bit of very light tan feathering all the way around the neck. Comb is straight. Any ideas on this one?
