Hello,
This is my first time hatching chicks, got 8 hatched out of 12 - not bad for a first timer 😉, and these are supposed to be silkies, americauna, and I believe an Easter egger. Could you please help me guess the gender on them? I can't keep roosters where I live and my neighbor likes to complain so I would like to be able to rehome the roos asap. They are about 4 weeks old.

I'm thinking #2 is definitely a roo. Also please let me know if additional pics are needed.

Thank you in advance!

What adorable chickie babies you've got!!
I would definitely agree with you on #2, so I'de keep an eye on that little as he grows. Although, all the other chicks pictured look to be girls so far in their development. Overall, them being 3ish weeks, they still have some time to grow, so checking in and showing updates when they reach 6-8 weeks would help to identify their genders more clearly.

Do you know what breeds 2, 3 and 8 are?
The two white ones are pure white. Btw #8 is absolutely an adorable personality, especially in that photo, what a cutie! 🤗
And #3 almost reminds me of a game breed with its sleek body and interesting mottled coloring.

Got it, will do. Thank you 😊

I think I have read here that silkies are very difficult to sex as chicks. I have to admit that I have not paid that much attention to silkies overall, but #1 is adorable!
Yeah, I read the same but am hoping those with more experience raising silkies will help provide some good guesses.

It's a little young, but I generally am pretty good at this so I'll lay out my guesses, and you should update as they grow!

1 - boy
2 - boy
3 - boy
4 - girl
5 - boy
6 - girl
7 - girl
8 - girl

It'll be fun to find out!
