Hello All BYC fans! I adopted a hen and no one can seem to tell me the breed she might be. Can anyone help???

Do you know how old this bird is? Kind of looks like a young cockerel Delaware

She is 6 months old. Just started laying (white eggs). Super sweet disposition but doesn't like my 4 little black sex linked peeps.

When I looked at the pics, I immediately thought "cockerel". But she's laying?? Amazing. Seriously, I've never seen a more boyish pullet. But maybe it's the pic angle or something.

If she just started laying, I'd say she's somewhere between 4 and 6 months old.

That tail! She still looks rooey. Are you absolutely sure she's the one who's laying those eggs? My rooster likes to hang out in the nest boxes sometimes

Btw, that pic's adorable. Looks like the chicken wants to be buddies with the pup

Sure looks like a young rooster to me too. And with red ear lobes shouldn't any eggs be brown? I'm still pretty new, my older girls are only 5yo so I'm still learning. Good luck!

Are you 100% sure that "she" is laying eggs? Sorry but I'm finding it really hard to believe that that is a hen. I mean those tail feathers SCREAM roo.
