help identifying possible scaly leg mites?

light brahma, 1 year old. . . jut noticed this blood on her leg and grabbed a quick photo. . . i will get more pics tomorrow after cleaning the leg. . . .

is this scaly leg mites? looks like she has some new feather growth coming in (or is that white crusties from mites?). . .

Looks more like feather picking to me. Feathers look broken off.

ugh im not sure which is worse. Could be picking, they havent been spending much time outside the past few days (their choice, not mine). Today I finally locked them out when they were done laying. Im sure they get bored in there. . . need to nip that in the bud right away! any suggestions?

Feathers can get broken off by constant wearing against something. Have you noticed anything like that? I personally might try bluekote, but wait for other opinions. I personally haven't dealt with scaly leg mites so I could be wrong, but I don't see any raised scales, just broken feathers.

Sometimes birds do that to themselves too. So some time observing could help see what's going on.
