HELP!! IDK WHAT TO DO! SOS!

idk what to do, I was at work while this all happened. my parents told me how they saw my egg shaking and thought it was in the process of hatching(on day 18 rn). and its been like that for hours. they read something online and decided to peel it a little and help it out. I know it was a wrong idea. so someone please help idk what to do from here.

I don’t think any further intervention would be helpful. Of course, they shouldn’t have tried to assist hatch in the first place but it looks like the bleeding has stopped…I think all you can do is wait it out and make sure humidity is up

Don’t let your parents touch another egg. Tell them not to open the incubator at all!! You may lose that chick because the membrane will probably be so dried out and it won’t be ready to hatch for another couple of days. So just keep the humidity up and allow the eggs to hatch on their own. There is a time and place for helping, but day 18 is definitely not it!!

You can see in that photo the unabsorbed yolk - because the chick is nowhere near ready to hatch. Poor baby! Hopefully the rest will hatch on their own. Chicken eggs should hatch on their own on day 21. Day 18 is too early.

So I have an issue where one chick has hatched and perfect little baby there are at least one other that has pipped I can hear the peeps and see other eggs moving a bit. So how long once it peeps should I wait to help if i should help at all?
I only have these eggs in the incubator bc the nesting shelf I’ll called another story for another time… anyway the front didn’t have a lip to prevent eggs from rolling off and so yep they or some rolled off luckily them bottom of the little house was very fluffy with shavings and so mom decided to continue to brood over those on bottom about 8 eggs and that left 5 on shelf at which i grabbed up and put in incubator wasn’t even sure if they would survive bc I didn’t know how long they went without being under momma. Oh and not sure of timing of when they were laid! I could smack myself for not making sure I was getting all the eggs! They’re not even all hers! Anyway do I take the one chick put it in the brooder alone or can I maybe sneak and put it under her? Thanks in advance for and suggestions and help!

I would have let it alone, I learned my lesson on trying to help chicks hatch, especially too soon.

you CAN use some wax to seal it, it might help but theres not much left to do. Id say on day 21 or 22 attempt to help it if its still alive...

Well after posting that I took a nap and tada it’s hatched!!! Yay and another has peeped!
So my next question is how long do I leave those hatched and dry in the incubator?
