Help! Incubator temperature is not consistent

My incubator temperature is not consistent. It will be fine for a few days, then the temp will be a few degrees too high or too low. Do I have a defective thermostat. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Have you checked it with other thermometer? If it's digital on the incubator some times they are off- I usually test mine with several
 
What kind of incubator is it?
I've had little giants that have all done that. Mostly spiking temps.
They weren't from a faulty thermostat but just a unreliable set up all together.
 
We'll see what others say.
I won't use them anymore and I've gave them a few chances. Cooked to many chicks with them.
I love the Hovabators with the wafer thermostats. I've found them very reliable. Just plug and play year after year.
