We removed our young hen (can start laying any day now) from the flock due to injuries from being bullied/pecked. Well, I think she is loving it so much inside, I do not see her thriving if I put her back outside. She is a salmon favorelle and I have already had one drop dead on me (literally) right around the same age. I'm thinking it's a possible breed issue being too flighty for the other birds.
We tried putting her with the bantams, smaller should be better right, but the oldest/alpha pecked her once and she started flipping out doing circles and when I took her out she was hot, wings down, beak open and seemed mortified.
I don't know if I even have a question but am more just curious if anyone has any experience with something similar and/or any tips. She isn't the worst to have inside but between the mess and space it all seems a bit too much for the long term
