This is my first time having Blue Splash Marans and dealing with feathered feet. Today I noticed one of my chicks, Poppy, (5 weeks old) has pink, inflamed areas on the outside of both feet where the feathers grow. She's eating, drinking, walking and acting fine. I have 2 others with feathered feet and they don't appear to have this issue. I moved them outside on Saturday, and of course now the weather has been rainy and gross, so the floor of their little coop is starting to get muddy. I'm not sure if there is some kind of infection going on or what. I brought her in and rinsed her feet off with warm water, then applied Vetericyn Plus Antimicrobial spray all over her feet and put her back out with the other chicks. Any idea what this may be? And how to best take care of it? Thanks in advance for any advice, I feel sick worrying about her. She is the absolute sweetest little chick I've ever had.
A side note, all of them have been vaccinated for Marek's. I don't know much about the disease but I know it can cause some funky things with feet, so it's safe to rule that out.
