I wouldn't do the egg shell, namely because it might pop the yolk sac.Put it back in the bottom half of the egg shell, place that in a narrow cup, and either put it back in the incubator if it will fit, or in the warm brooder away from any other chicks who might peck at it or knock it over, allow it time to absorb the yolk and hopefully it is okay.
I have it on its own in incubator at moment but its shell is broken and gone as hatched with other chicks which I have removed to booder. What do you think caused it?I wouldn't do the egg shell, namely because it might pop the yolk sac.
Welcome to BYC! It's an unabsorbed yolk sac. Line a cup of bowl with paper towels, and set the chick inside. That's good having it in its own incubator. Keep the humidity pretty high so that sac stays moist. 75% or so. It should absorb in a day or two. He'll be ok. Good luck with him.
