We bought 4 chicks that were sold to us as Delawares. Two of them show the typical white with black at neck, back and tail. The other two just have gold/copper hackle coloring. Is this typical for some Delawares?
This is one of each color. White with black on left other on right.

This is better pics of the coloring on what is supposed to be a Delaware.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Feathersite says they are a breed used to make Sexlinks... maybe the tanish one is a Sexlink chick.

Don't Delawares have black streaking from the head down the neck? Maybe this is a Buff Delaware (which unfortunately doesn't exist I don't think).

they look alot like my red stars (red sexlinks from my pet chicken) did when they were little....

they might be golden comets or something a little less red, too... for what it's worth, we LOVE our girls - very funny and sweet and have given us an egg each every day since january!!! started laying at 15weeks.....

the one on the right looks like my Delaware chicks, not the buff though.

The first pic..the white one is a Delaware and the other chicks.. Not... I have no clue what the buff colored ones are....

Does the chick on the left in the first picture have white shanks?

Sorry, but I think they're all mixes.

I had not even noticed that point, Cyn, but you are correct! I believe it does look as if the legs are the wrong color too.
