This is a three and a half month old bantam Cochin. We are "not" new to having a small flock of Bantam chickens but we are new to adding to our flock. We purchased this Cochin (straight run) at 3 weeks old. She/He is absolutely beautiful and the sweetest chicken we have ever had! We have noticed this beauty has been making a bit of noise mostly in the morning. We were pretty certain she was a pullet due to her great nature and her overall look. Is it possible for a pullet to sound somewhat like a cockerel? The noise is not a full fledged male call....but I'm guessing it is indeed a call of some sort. Any Ideas or suggestions on what you think she/he may be just by looking at the pictures? We really do not want a cockerel added to our flock. Neighbors nearby may get angry with the noise. We were so hoping this sweet thing was a pullet

What is it that you can look for in order to tell the difference at this age? I know a few things but i am certainly not an expert!

But just looking at your pics this bird has that "look", his tail feathering, and especially his comb and wattles...he is a BEAUTY!!

Then again I could be dead wrong...does he crow??
