Silkies are so tough to sex! I have three, and was preparing myself for having to give 2 of them away - I would have bet money they were roos. I was waiting for that first crow and I cannot tell you how surprised I was to find all three finally laying eggs. And one of the girls has a huge walnut comb (and as much as I love her, she's not much in looks department). I wouldn't bet the farm - wait for the crow or the egg!

Buff Silkie's are the hardest to sex because they take so long to mature. My guess if a rooster for the same reason as a previous poster which is his stance. WHen I had 5 buff Silkies two of them turned out to be roosters. I was only ablt to be 100% sure at 3 or 4 months. I would wait just a little bit longer to be sure. :-)

I'm saying rooster. The stance, the topknot, it just fits. They can always surprise you, but he looks just like our little Silkie, Sissy, who crowed, dang-it.
