HELP I'VE ISOLATED A BULLY

HELP I've isolated a bully today. She's in isolation under the poop shelf in my coop Problem is, it's going down to -21 celsius with windchill tonight. Coop is good and dry and draft free Will she be okay alone with extra scratch and bedding?

I'm thinking I should let her off the hook tonight so she can snuggle in with the others

I would. But the super cold doesnt last longer were i am, if its more of a weeks/months thing you may want a different plan. Garage at night maybe.

Ya garage isn't any warmer. And we have snow squall warning in place. Okay thank you for confirming my gut feeling. Parole it is for her for now At least the victim had a nice relaxing day

What behaviors have you seen to make you think she's a bully? Does it carry over to the coop at bedtime, or just during the day?

Sometimes the pecking order can get pretty rough. If it's not true bullying (and she's not pushing her victim away from the others at night), I'd allow them to work it out so they can snuggle up in these frigid temps.

She is really targeting the smallest and of course sweetest hen. To the point where the last two nights the victim has been out in the run all alone at night. Ive had to put her inside. I know she'll always be the low man on the pecking order but. I also found she had some dried frozen poop and dirt below her vent. I've got her cleaned up and if nothing else today gave her a more relaxing day.

Tonight everyone went in all together, and they are more evenly spread in their spots on the roasting bars .... not everyone on the highest and two little ones alone on the lower roost.

I did notice the bully would still peck her if she got too close but she wasn't chasing after her now Not that I remotely think this is permanent lol

This is the key thing (in my opinion). If she’s not following her around to beat on her, then that’s good sign. It’s normal for some birds to have a punching bag victim that they’ll smack whenever they cross paths.

You certainly don’t want anyone left out in the rain, so I’d keep a tentative eye on them.

Oh I'll look for it thank you. Everything seemed fine for months but my little victim was always the one that would follow me, want to eat out of my hand, etc. So I'm thinking some jealousy???
