Help! leaving chicks alone?

Hi! I'm smalls, and I recently ordered four chicks a nearby farm. Since I go to school, and my parents aren't home while I'm there, I was wondering if it's okay to leave them alone for that long? I'm rather scared they'll paste up or something and die :( thanks for reading!
 
How old are your chicks? Do you have them in a brooder with sufficient food for the time you will be gone.? Do you have shallow water pans with some clear pebbles or marbles in them - to prevent drowning. Is there a wire top on your brooder, so they have good air exchange, and to prevent any from flying out, or house pets from getting in to harm them? Do you have enough room for them in the brooder so they are crowded?

How long are you gone on school days? I think if you check for pasty butt before you leave in the morning and again when you come home - they should be alright. Chicks grow very fast. Will you have a secure coop and covered run for them to be in once they are old enough to move outside?

Glad you could join the flock! Drumstick has left you some advice on leaving your chicks while you are at school. If things are ok for them as in brooder size and that they have food and water available at all times they should be fine while your out during the day. When I'm brooding chicks in the house I've left them during the day and they have been fine. When brooding in the house I use a guinea cage. It's well ventilated and my cat can't get into them as it has a cage lid. They have room to get out from the heat if they need to cool down.

I actually haven't gotten them yet, they should be here on Sunday... I'm just using a regular chick waterer, nothing special. They'll be two days old when they arrive and they are protected from my dog, as well as neighborhood racoons. My brooder has an open top but angled walls so chicks can't fly out.
